Two men, one from Pembroke and one from Devonshire are currently in Police custody as the Serious Crime Department of the Bermuda Police Service is investigating an incident which occurred around 11.30 p.m. on Monday in the vicinity of Grace Methodist Church on North Shore Road in Pembroke.
As a result of this incident police divers from the Marine Unit attended the area and recovered a firearm from the water.
A spokesperson from the Bermuda Police Service saying the investigation is still in its infancy and at this stage it would be inappropriate to mention specifics with regards to the incident.
However Today In Bermuda has been reliably informed that the gun ended up in the water after a woman fearing for her life jumped overboard for her safety.
It appears she was able to remove the gun from a man's possession, and as a result of her entering the water, the gun ended up on the sea bottom. Sources also telling us the woman swam to her safety and sought assistance from a residence in the area.
At least one of the men is expected to appear in Magistrates' Court within next 48 hours.
